BLOG CONTEST WINNER!

Howdy ya’ll and yee-haw!

We have some HUGE news for you.

We are thrilled to announce the winner of our very first Write2Ignite! Blog Contest.

Congratulations to Diana Sharples of Canton, Georgia. Her proposal for her Inspirational YA, The Fifth Generation, will be sent to Jenni Burke of D. C. Jacobson & Associates, LLC for a critique and lots more.  Rejoice with her, folks. Send her a note of congratulations at diana@dlsharples.com.

Many thanks to all of the Write2Igniters who sent in your proposals. We are looking forward to seeing you all again next year – March 16-17, 2012 – at North Greenville University. We’re already planning for some special presenters, some great workshop topics, tons of fellowship, and FABULOUS door prizes!

See you next March.

Jean & The Team

p.s. We’re hoping that, in the near future, Diana will share with us here on our blog all the good things that come from winning this contest.

  3. Hey, y'all!

Things have been busy, so I'm horribly late in responding to this announcement. Thank you SO much for the opportunity to send in my proposal... and WIN!

My critique and discussion with Jenni Burke went quite well. She enjoyed reading the proposal and gave me some great feedback. She also made a suggestion on what other agents I might query, since she wasn't in a position to take me on as a client.

The summer has been incredibly busy for my family, with several out-of-town trips including a week-long mission trip to New York City with about 40 teenagers from our church. Whatever writing time I've been able to snag has been focused on completing one of my other novels, Running Lean, which I was rewriting for an editor. I haven't been able to work at all on The Fifth Generation since my discussion with Jenni, but I will soon.

Thanks again to Jean Hall and all the other folks at Write2Ignite, and to Jenni Burke for all you do to help aspiring authors like me!

    Y'all rock! :-)
